Kasou Taishou is a semi-annual program on NTV in which various amateur groups perform short skits, which are evaluated by a panel of judges. In recent years, many of the skits have focused on creative techniques for "faking" cinematic special effects in a live theater setting. The show is hosted by Kinichi Hagimoto and Katori Shingo. Internationally, the most well-known of these skits, and one of the most successful in the "fake special effects" category, is a skit widely recognized as "Matrix ping pong."
