Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu

Set in 1863 during the waning years of the samurai era, Japan is divided between pro-shogunate and anti-shogunate factions. The balance of history is endangered when an army of historical revisionists from the future arrives to change the past. To counter this threat and preserve true history, two sword warriors—spirits brought to life by the sage Saniwa—rush to Edo. Horikawa Kunihiro, a polite and thoughtful swordsman, and Izuminokami Kanesada, a hot-tempered but skilled warrior who once served the same master, lead the charge alongside a spirited group of other warriors: Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, Yagen Toushirou, Tombokiri, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga. As the fate of history rests in their hands, the full extent of the battle ahead remains to be revealed.
