Kiss Him, Not Me

Kae Serinuma, a self-proclaimed "fujoshi," becomes immersed in romantic daydreams whenever she sees two boys interact. After her favorite anime character dies, she loses weight from the emotional impact, prompting four classmates to confront her. Despite their attempts to get her attention, Kae remains more interested in imagining romantic scenarios between them.

Kae, having lost weight, performs well in PE class, catching the attention of members of the soccer club who invite her to participate in a practice match. Confident in her knowledge of soccer, which is based entirely on soccer anime, Kae struggles when actually playing, prompting Igarashi and others to assist her in improving.

For the school cultural festival, Kae's class opens a cosplay café, and she enthusiastically takes on the challenge of designing costumes for her classmates and Shinomiya, who is portraying a princess in another class's play. While working on the designs, she also assists the history club with its exhibition, managing to complete all tasks with the help of her friends just in time for the event.

As Christmas approaches, Nanashima proposes a party, but Kae announces her plans to attend Comiket, prompting the group to go together and combine both events. The boys are overwhelmed and out of place at their first Comiket experience, while Kae explores the convention until she encounters a problem at the cosplay area, which is resolved by an attractive cosplayer.

In the Valentine's event of the anime *Mirage Saga*, Kae attempts to make a special chocolate for Shun that reflects Shion's beauty. After struggling with a 3-D chocolate sculpture and receiving advice from Nishina, Kae faces a decision about whether to use the chocolate she has already made.

Katchu Ranbu, a new and wildly popular anime, sparks excitement among fans Bot Kae and Nishina, who each support different romantic pairings involving Lord and Akane, leading to a heated conflict that threatens their friendship. With the help of Igarashi, Nanashima, Shinomiya, and Mutsumi, they attempt to reconcile, but their rivalry over the pairings seems to be intensifying.

The group takes a one-night trip to attend the death anniversary of Hyakki Sametora, the historical samurai that inspired the lord of Kachu Rabu. Kae and Nishina are fascinated by the authentic armor, helmet, and portrait that inspired Akane's design. Later, Kae convinces the others to visit a small island in a lake where Sametora's head is said to be buried.

Following the group's pilgrimage, Nanashima becomes aware of shifts in Kae's interactions with the others and feels increasingly insecure about his place in the group now that Shion is absent. Inspired during a dance with his little sister, he resolves to take more initiative. At the same time, Kae begins working a part-time job at Usami Land to help fund future Kachu Rabu events.

The group spends a relaxing day at Nishina's seaside house, enjoying activities like bodyboarding, beach volleyball, and a barbecue. Shinomiya, however, begins to doubt his own reliability and usefulness, leading him to withdraw after another unsuccessful attempt to contribute.

Mutsumi discovers a treasure map in the History Club room and proposes an adventure, initially met with reluctance from Igarashi, Nanashima, Shinomiya, and Nishina. Their interest grows when they learn Kae will be joining Mutsumi, and they become puzzled by Mutsumi's unchanged behavior toward Kae, prompting them to question his true feelings.

Mutsumi informs his brother Kazuma that Serinuma is his girlfriend, but Kazuma remains focused on pursuing Kae, intensifying his efforts. Meanwhile, Igarashi, Nanashima, Shinomiya, and Nishina attempt to work together to hinder Kazuma's advances.

The group gathers to express their true feelings toward Kae, with Mutsumi present. Kae opts to go on individual dates with each of them to determine which relationship she will pursue.
