Kryminalni was a Polish crime drama television series that aired on the TVN network from September 18, 2004, until May 24, 2008. It consisted of 8 seasons and a total of 101 episodes. The series was created by Polish director and screenwriter Piotr Wereśniak and produced by MTL Maxfilm studio. The show depicted the life and work of police officers in the elite Criminal Terror and Murders Division of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police; the title refers to officers in the crime section. The three main characters were Adam Zawada, an experienced and tough detective, his younger colleague Marek Brodecki, and Barbara Storosz, an ambitious female officer who joined the team in the first season after graduating from the police academy. Although none of the main actors had achieved star status before the series began, all three gained prominence and popularity over the show's five-year run. Many of Poland's well-known actors appeared as guest stars, typically portraying individuals involved in a single investigation. The series was one of the most popular in Poland, with a weekly audience of 4 million viewers.
