Kummeli is a Finnish comedy group founded by Heikki Silvennoinen, Timo Kahilainen, and Heikki Hela from Tampere. They also serve as the leaders of Porkkana Ryhmä, the production company behind the group. Other notable members have included Olli Keskinen, who performed under the stage name Eero Kakko, and Heikki Vihinen, who took over from Keskinen in the mid-90s. Kummeli appeared on television from 1991 to 1995. After a successful three-part pilot, they were given their own show on YLE's channel 2, featuring a completely new format. The Kummeli TV show mainly consisted of sketches featuring eccentric characters, and often included musical guests, as the core members were primarily musicians rather than professional actors. Some episodes featured recurring sketch sequences that culminated in a final scene at the end of the episode. Following the show's conclusion in the mid-90s, the Kummeli members made occasional appearances on television and at various events. It was during this period that Keskinen left the group, and Heikki Vihinen became his replacement.
