In 1787 in France, Joseph Guillotin, who would later become known for inventing the guillotine, investigates a series of mysterious murders. During his inquiry, he discovers an unknown virus referred to as the Blue Blood. The disease spreads rapidly among the French aristocracy, causing them to commit violent acts against ordinary people and eventually sparking a rebellion.
