Land of the Lustrous

In a distant future, a world ravaged by six meteors is inhabited by crystalline beings known as Gems. These beings are assigned roles to combat the Lunarians, a species that attacks them to shatter their bodies and use them as decorations. Phosphophyllite, also known as Phos, is a young and fragile Gem who wishes to contribute to the war effort. However, due to their delicate condition, they are instead tasked with compiling an encyclopedia. While reluctantly undertaking this assignment, Phos meets Cinnabar, an intelligent Gem who patrols an isolated island at night due to the corrosive poison their body emits. Observing Cinnabar's unhappiness, Phos seeks a way for both rejected Gems to find fulfillment. Can Phos's seemingly mundane task lead to the satisfaction both Phos and Cinnabar desire?
