
Synopsis
The episode explores Richard Alpert's origins, depicting his arrival on the island in 1867 as a slave aboard the Black Rock and his agreement with Jacob to gain immortality in exchange for acting as his representative. In the present day, Hurley convinces Richard to help the candidates take Jacob's place and stop the Man in Black from leaving the island.
