Pol begins studying philosophy with the goal of becoming the new Merli, while still holding feelings for Bruno. He develops new friendships among his fellow students and meets his inspiring professor, Maria Bolaño, whose influence will have a profound impact on his life.

Pol is posthumously gifted a collection of books by Merli. While assisting a friend in need, Pol also contends with rising academic demands from Bolaños. His friendship with Rai results in an unexpected discovery.

Bolaño puts Pol through a degrading exercise to test his determination. A faculty gathering at Minerva's home becomes chaotic as tensions escalate.

Axel takes Pol to his family's house near Barcelona, where they have an open and honest conversation. At the same time, Alfonso begins to develop a deeper understanding of HIV.

Rai contemplates personal history and potential futures as Pol and his companions confront the rector about the symposium. Bolaño expresses a personal vulnerability.
