Midnight's Children is a novel by Indian-British author Salman Rushdie, published in 1981. It explores India's journey from British colonial rule to independence and partition through the story of Saleem Sinai, the protagonist, whose life intertwines with the nation's history. The novel blends postcolonial themes with magical realism and postmodern storytelling.
