Mood Indigo

The story begins with Shirō Kido reuniting with a former classmate, Rio Kijima, at the funeral of a college teacher. In the past, when they were students, Kijima demonstrated talent as a novelist, even winning a major award. Kido was envious of Kijima's success, but after reading his works, he realized his own lack of talent and abandoned novel writing, instead becoming an editor of erotic novels. After their reunion, it becomes clear to Kido that Kijima is struggling creatively, having exhausted his talent. In his own state of uncertainty, Kido offers Kijima the chance to write pornographic novels. As they become immersed in intense eroticism and closeness, both men open up and indulge their desires. As their lust intensifies, so does their toxic craving. The two develop a relationship that crosses boundaries, drawing a complex mix of emotions from the suffering Kijima.
