Moriarty the Patriot

A series of brutal murders of young boys has left London in fear, with the police unable to identify the killer. William Moriarty uncovers a connection between the victims, prompting him and his brothers to investigate.

In 1866, a gifted orphan and his sickly younger brother are admitted to a charitable institution, where they draw the interest of the son of an aristocrat, who is critical of the rigid social hierarchy in Britain.

Albert invites two brothers to reside at the Moriarty estate, but they face resistance from the existing household members. As Albert becomes more troubled by his family's hostility, he takes extreme actions to address the growing tension.

William starts a teaching position at a university and is invited to dinner at Viscount Belfor's estate. During a tour of the viscount's meticulously maintained conservatory, he and his brothers are unsettled by the stories told about the gardener and his wife.

William becomes concerned when one of his students, Lucian, disappears and a local waitress who was close to him dies by suicide. Though a university administrator dismisses his worries, William decides to look into Lucian's recent activities.

A commoner is pursued and killed by a hunter, setting the stage for the luxury ocean liner Noahtic's debut, where Count Blitz Enders, a disdainful aristocrat, voices his contempt for allowing commoners on board. Earlier, William had devised a plan to transform society by introducing widespread crime in London, using targeted murders to reveal how nobles have exploited the lower class, beginning with Blitz.

Moriarty feigns acceptance of Blitz's claim that Thomas was killed in self-defense and proposes helping to conceal the crime.

Sherlock Holmes faces reprimand from his landlady, Mrs. Hudson, for unpaid rent, prompting his friend Dr. Stamford to suggest finding a flatmate. Dr. John Watson, a former army doctor, is introduced to Holmes, who deduces aspects of Watson's background. With Mrs. Hudson's approval, Watson moves in, and Holmes is soon arrested by Inspector Lestrade on suspicion of murdering Count Drebber.

Sherlock and John investigate the murder of Count Drebber and use a wedding ring found at the scene to set a trap for the killer. Sherlock identifies the true murderer, who then presents him with an unusual proposition.

Sherlock grows increasingly agitated, convinced that an unseen genius is orchestrating the Noahtic and Drebber cases. After an inconclusive inquiry into the death of another nobleman, he reencounters William on a train journey.

Sherlock and William race against time to solve a murder onboard a train, with Sherlock focusing on physical evidence and William analyzing the killer's psychological traits. As the train approaches its next stop, the two employ different methods to narrow down the suspect.

Mycroft Holmes assigns Albert to retrieve sensitive documents and eliminate the thief, while Sherlock Holmes takes on a case for the King of Bohemia involving Irene Adler, whose actions jeopardize a royal wedding.

Albert, following William's strategy, invites Irene to a masquerade centered around a game themed after the notorious "Lord of Crime." Disguised as a man, Irene participates in the game to secretly communicate with Albert, offering the location of stolen papers in exchange for her own protection.

Sherlock realizes Irene is negotiating with a powerful criminal figure known as the Lord of Crime but allows her to proceed. Their meeting takes place in an abandoned church, where Sherlock unexpectedly intervenes to ensure Irene's safety and takes control of the situation.

Bonde, now a member of the Moriarty organization, is assigned to recover an item from a safe deposit box with Moran, Louis, and Fred. When a sudden bank heist forces the others to act impulsively, Bonde is left uncertain about his next move.

A string of murders attributed to a self-proclaimed Jack the Ripper sparks tension as a vigilante group from the town's lower class clashes with the authorities. Meanwhile, William and the actual Jack the Ripper work to uncover the identity and motives of the killer to prevent further bloodshed.

A suspect is arrested for the Jack the Ripper murders, which had been solved by the Moriarty family, leading Lestrade to seek Sherlock's assistance in uncovering evidence that suggests the arrest is a setup by Arterton. At the same time, Paterson attempts to smuggle Bonde into the police station.

William, demonstrating remarkable intelligence and courage, saves the orphanage he resides in, outpacing the adults around him. He later lends a nobleman £600, inspired by a well-known play, but when the nobleman fails to honor the agreement, William resorts to extreme actions.

Adam Whiteley, a young and idealistic Member of Parliament, becomes a public figure known as the "White Knight" for his efforts to promote social equality. As opposition to his rise grows, a group hires Milverton to undermine him, while William takes a personal interest in Whiteley and begins to observe his actions closely.

Whiteley presents compelling evidence from Albert to the House of Lords but instead encounters Milverton, a notorious blackmailer, who begins to manipulate and threaten Whiteley's brother during their tense negotiations.

John introduces Sherlock to Mary, his fiancée, but Sherlock is surprised to learn she has a personal mystery she wants him to solve. She reveals six pearls linked to her missing father, though she withholds part of the truth.

Mary is blackmailed by Milverton, who uses her past involvement in antigovernment activities as leverage. Sherlock attempts to infiltrate Milverton's home to retrieve the incriminating evidence, only to discover that his plan was foreseen and that he is not alone in his intrusion.

William James Moriarty publicly declares himself the Lord of Crime, sparking widespread outrage and scrutiny of the Moriarty family. As aristocratic condemnation grows, the final phase of Moriarty's elaborate plan begins to unfold.

William seeks to finalize his plan through his own death, while Albert and others carry out their assigned roles. Sherlock uncovers William's real motive for having him defeat the Lord of Crime. In a final confrontation overlooking London, the two face each other one last time.
