Ben Harper is a dentist and family man experiencing a mid-life crisis, navigating the challenges of raising teenagers. His wife, Susan, is content with her career as a London tour guide, though she struggles with basic domestic tasks like cooking or organizing the pantry. The couple has three children, each with distinct personalities: Nick, the 19-year-old on a gap year who rarely leaves the sofa or job center; Janey, a sharp and mature 16-year-old; and Michael, a 12-year-old computer-savvy boy who is beginning to explore relationships with girls.
