My Husband in Law
Muey is a young girl who has lived with her adoptive mother, who is also her biological mother's close friend, since her biological mother's death. She has a crush on Thian, the son of her adoptive mother. Despite her feelings for him, Thian does not return her affection and often teases, mocks, and bullies her. Muey, however, does not respond with anger or resentment, as she loves him deeply. One day, Thian is forced to marry Muey in order to get rid of the wife of a powerful man. Though he never viewed Muey as a potential life partner, Thian is uncomfortable with the marriage. He is also dissatisfied with Muey, as he envisions an ideal, perfect wife, and does not see her as meeting that standard. The story raises the question of whether Thian will eventually fall in love with Muey, and if she will become the perfect wife he desires.
