Michael Weatherly is set to return as Tony DiNozzo for a season-long arc in NCIS Season 24. He confirmed his return during a convention appearance over the weekend of July 11-12. Weatherly, who was an original cast member, left the show at the end of Season 13. He appeared alongside Cote de Pablo at Comic Con Midlands in Birmingham, United Kingdom, where he discussed his upcoming role and the connection to the spinoff 'Tony & Ziva.' Weatherly mentioned that the storyline will not retcon the events of the spinoff, ensuring continuity with the original series. He also shared that filming will begin on Tuesday, July 14.
