After spending years at sea, Noah Tomten, a retired sea captain, owns an antique toy store named Notions Oddities Doodads and Delights of Yesterday. The store features an eclectic collection of toys, including a weasel inside a jack-in-the-box and a dog dressed as a superhero, along with his pet lobster. Two of his grandchildren, Kate and Truman, as well as Kate's friend DJ, visit him occasionally.
