Ӕon Flux

Æon begins the episode by catching a fly with her eyelashes before engaging in a violent confrontation between Monican agents and Breen forces. She kills numerous soldiers, many of whom are already weakened by a mysterious illness spread by an azure beetle. Meanwhile, Trevor Goodchild secretly carries one of the beetles and, with his lover, ascends to the building's upper levels where Æon's target is located, while Æon unknowingly picks up a tack on her boot during her climb.

Æon and Trevor exchange a kiss through the windows of their respective vehicles—a plane and a train—during which Trevor secretly places a rolled-up picture inside one of Æon's fake teeth. After parting ways, Æon discovers the photo contains information about a fellow passenger and a suitcase, prompting her to attempt a risky maneuver to intercept him. She climbs along the side of the plane to observe the man, who is reviewing documents from the suitcase, but fails to make it inside and falls.

Æon attempts to assassinate her target by infiltrating their home through a maintenance ladder, but she falls and realizes she is being watched by a security camera. Inside, she locates the security room and nearly destroys the footage before deciding to review it. A technical malfunction and a spilled coffee delay her mission, and she unknowingly overlooks footage of another intruder.

Æon discovers that Trevor has eaten all the eggs she was keeping in her refrigerator and becomes angry. Before leaving the Monican base, she watches an agent struggle with a complex climbing frame and then successfully completes it herself. Later, she retrieves some of the same eggs from another facility and examines one under a microscope.

Æon and a red-clad companion descend from a high level of a sea base carrying a key, but their journey is interrupted when Trevor attacks them in the lift. Æon subdues him, though not before he disrupts the lift's controls, forcing her to search each level manually for the correct locker. As she navigates the base, dealing with enemies and obstacles on each floor, Trevor and the red-clothed agent repeatedly interact, drawing Æon's suspicion.

The episode depicts a large-scale conflict between the Monicans and the Bregnan military, with Æon Flux actively engaged in combat. After incapacitating numerous enemies, Æon is surprised by a Breen guard feigning death. She attempts to divert the guard's attention to allow another Monican to approach, but the plan is compromised when the Breen detects the second agent.

Æon infiltrates Bregna as Trevor Goodchild assumes temporary leadership following Chairman Clavius's kidnapping. Trevor implements a policy of "complete openness," deploying surveillance cameras to tighten his control, while Gildemere, a Breen soldier loyal to Clavius, suspects Trevor of orchestrating the kidnapping. Trevor's actions are driven by a desire for power and a mysterious plan involving Clavius's body and an enigmatic key.

Trevor keeps a male and female humanoid bird known as Seraph-Trevs in captivity, attempting to seduce the female. Another scientist, Ilbren, seeks to take the female for himself and offers the male to Æon in exchange for her help. Meanwhile, Æon enlists her old friend Una to help rescue the birds, as the male suffers from being separated from his mate.

A group of boys play-fight near the border, with one triggering a turret for entertainment, while political tensions rise as Trevor Goodchild faces pressure to make the border more formidable. He secretly supports Æon's bombing of a factory producing wall components, believing in persuasion over force. Meanwhile, Breen lovers Onan and Sybil attempt to flee Bregna through a gap in the frontier.

Goodchild has developed a technique to copy humans, prompting Æon and the Bregna double-agent Scaphandra to infiltrate his operations. Scaphandra, who has undergone significant physical modifications, is captured and sampled by Goodchild, but Æon rescues her and confronts Goodchild about the morality of his work. In a calculated move, Æon allows Goodchild to take a sample of herself while destroying Scaphandra's.

Monican agents clash with Breen forces as they attempt to launch the captured astral entity known as the Demiurge into space, believing it will bring peace to humanity. Trevor opposes the mission, while the Demiurge begins transferring parts of itself into earthly avatars, including a cat, a bird, and a revived Monican agent named Nader, prior to the rocket's launch.

Æon infiltrates a Breen prison disguised as a guard to retrieve compromising photographs of herself and Trevor, which he holds for ransom in exchange for a Narghile. During her escape, she kills a prisoner, mistaking her for a guard, and later meets and takes in a Monican named Rordy.

Æon awakens from a disturbing dream and finds herself in a seemingly abandoned Breen research facility, where she encounters a mysterious young boy who leads her through the base and reveals a preserved vial of an ancient virus. Meanwhile, Trevor is also en route to the site, which appears to have aged centuries in just a few weeks, while a monstrous creature lurks in the shadows.

Æon and Lindze infiltrate the Habitat, a secure facility housing mutants and artificial lifeforms in an environment surrounded by paralyzing liquid. Their mission is to rescue Lindze's boyfriend, scientist Bargeld, who is ill with an artificial disease, and to destroy the base. Their efforts are complicated when Trevor and one of his human experiments arrive, damaging Æon's ship before being stopped by metal-sensitive wasps.

Æon pursues the dangerous Bambara through a train and construction site, failing to stop him from killing a worker before Trevor Goodchild captures him and implants a device called a Custodian, which neutralizes Bambara's violent tendencies. Trevor envisions widespread use of the Custodian as an artificial conscience, but Æon aligns with a group of women opposing the project, who seek to dismantle it. He then sets out to retrieve Bambara's Custodian.

Trevor creates a satellite, Aldis B, designed to accelerate human evolution but potentially deadly to half the population. Æon attempts to stop him by stealing and hiding the remote, during which he discovers an unusual alien in a hibernation pod with unusual biological traits and psionic abilities. The alien, later captured, exhibits signs of exposure to Aldis B and saves Æon from a fire bomb attack.
