Out There
The series follows the coming-of-age misadventures of socially awkward Chad, his younger brother Jay, and his best friend Chris. Set in the small town of Holford, the boys traverse its surreal, bleak landscape as they endure the final years of adolescence. Along the way, the show introduces Chad's conservative parents, Wayne and Rose, as well as Chris's single mother, Joanie, and her problematic boyfriend, Terry. Chad also develops a crush on Sharla. The series explores the challenges of youth, including puberty, first loves, and social exclusion, while depicting the uncertain period between childhood and adulthood, during which young identities shift and evolve. It captures the emotional highs and lows of this formative time as Chad and Chris attempt to navigate life in their town.
