Shinichi Kanou's father is a novelist and his mother is an illustrator for erotic video games, making it unsurprising that he grew up to be a fan of comics and science fiction. Unlike his parents, however, Shinichi did not pursue creative work himself but instead became one of the world's foremost experts on "moe," possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of all things cute and adorable across various forms of animation and media. This expertise led to his recruitment as a moe ambassador to the Holy Erudanto Kingdom, a parallel world where elements typically found only in anime exist in reality. How will a passionate young otaku react when placed in a world filled with actual cute and adorable elf maids and dragons? More importantly, how will the inhabitants of that world respond to this enthusiastic devotee with diplomatic credentials? And perhaps most crucially, what prompted the Japanese government to consider sending someone to represent Japan's moe interests in the first place?
