Cole makes a hasty decision to secretly move to San Francisco, using the cover of his straight best friend Daren's engagement party as an excuse to escape his unfulfilling career and the lingering memories of a passionate summer fling with a boy in New York. Upon arrival, he unexpectedly runs into his former fling, causing old emotions to resurface. When Daren later confesses that the engagement was a mistake, Cole turns to the mysterious powers of a re-discovered sketchbook in an attempt to restore order to their lives, regardless of the potential consequences.
