Peacemaker

Fifteen-year-old Tetsunosuke Ichimura has traded childhood innocence for a burning desire for revenge. After witnessing the brutal murder of his parents, Tetsu resolves to join the Shinsengumi, an elite group of swordsmen tasked with protecting the capital. The Shinsengumi are locked in a violent struggle with the Choshu rebels, the same faction responsible for his parents' deaths. Driven by a sense of justice and in defiance of his older brother's wishes, Tetsu seeks to become a member of the Shinsengumi. However, a late-night incident forces him to confront the harsh realities of the world. The Shinsengumi reveal themselves to be just as brutal as his parents' killers. As he navigates a landscape of espionage, intrigue, and bloodshed, Tetsu must choose between abandoning his humanity to become a ruthless Shinsengumi enforcer or letting go of his hatred and following in his father's footsteps as a Peacemaker. While revenge may be satisfying, the question remains: is it worth losing one's soul?
