In 1891, in London, Sir Malcolm Murray and the mysterious Vanessa Ives recruit American marksman Ethan Chandler and Dr. Victor Frankenstein to help in the search for a missing individual.

Vanessa and Sir Malcolm encounter the mysterious and strikingly handsome Dorian Gray at a social gathering, but their evening takes an unsettling turn when Madame Kali performs a séance. Meanwhile, Ethan begins a friendship with Brona Croft, a young Irish immigrant.

Dr. Frankenstein encounters a disturbing situation that brings to light secrets he had long tried to forget. At the same time, Vanessa has a vision of Mina, which leads to a strange discovery at the London Zoo.

Vanessa grows more infatuated with Dorian Gray. At the same time, Professor Van Helsing teams up with Dr. Frankenstein, and Fenton entices his master to Sir Malcolm's estate.

Vanessa reflects on key moments from her past that contributed to the mysterious disappearance of Mina.

Vanessa has a vision that leads Sir Malcolm, Ethan, and Sembene to begin an investigation. At the same time, Professor Van Helsing gives Dr. Frankenstein more information about those who have captured Mina.

Sir Malcolm, Ethan, Dr. Frankenstein, and Sembene work desperately over four intense weeks to rescue Vanessa from a dangerous force that has taken hold of her.

Vanessa, Sir Malcolm, Ethan, Dr. Frankenstein, and Sembene follow a vision to an abandoned theater, where they encounter manifestations of their deepest fears.

Victor continues his efforts to bring Brona back to life, while Ethan makes plans to depart from London, and Malcolm learns that Vanessa is experiencing troubling new visions.

Vanessa meets Caliban for the first time, while Victor begins teaching the revived Brona the fundamentals of language. Concurrently, the group reaches out to Ferdinand for help in interpreting the Verbis Diablo.

Vanessa recounts the story of how she developed her powers under the guidance of an experienced witch, as well as the painful events that followed.

Ferdinand helps Malcolm interpret Brother Gregory's writings, while Vanessa assists Victor in choosing a dress for his cousin. Dorian goes on a date with Angelique, and Ethan rescues a young woman from a runaway horse.

After securing the townhouse, the group temporarily parts ways. Rusk interrogates Ethan, while Brona and Victor grow closer. Vanessa takes Caliban dancing, and Evelyn moves forward with her plan to seduce Malcolm.

Malcolm responds calmly to the news of his wife's death, which surprises Ethan and Vanessa, who anticipate a more intense emotional reaction. Meanwhile, Ethan approaches Sembene to request a favor, and Dorian begins making preparations for Angelique's coming-out ball by sending out invitations.

Ethan and Vanessa make their way to the Cut-Wife's cottage in search of a weapon to defend against the Nightcomers, while Brona accompanies Dorian on an outing.

Meanwhile, in Zanzibar, Sir Malcolm meets a mysterious Native American man, and in London, Dr. Frankenstein consults Dr. Jekyll, while Vanessa seeks Dr. Seward's help to address an emerging threat.

Lily and Dorian attend an eccentric performance, while Vanessa takes Sweet to a separate event. At the same time, Rusk pursues Ethan to ensure his execution, and Henry tests his potion on Victor.

Vanessa asks Seward to perform hypnosis in an effort to recover memories from a previous encounter with the Master. At the same time, Rusk learns that Ethan has acquired a new ally, and Caliban finds his wife and child. Lily and Dorian manage to obtain Justine's loyalty as their personal servant.

Vanessa undergoes hypnosis to revisit her experiences at the Banning Institute, uncovering memories of a man who became her friend and the supernatural forces that haunted her.

Hecate and Ethan face the challenges of the unforgiving desert while being pursued by determined antagonists. At the same time, Victor and Henry continue their work at Bedlam.

Vanessa turns to her former friend Ferdinand Lyle for help, who introduces her to a possible new ally. Meanwhile, Lily, Dorian, and Justine start carrying out their plan, and Ethan, Sir Malcolm, and Hecate arrive at Jarod Talbot's ranch.

Kaetenay has a troubling vision of a future catastrophe. Frankenstein and Jekyll bring in an unexpected ally to help them. At the same time, the Creature begins to gain strength, and Vanessa uncovers a disturbing revelation.
