The Phoenix Club is owned by Brian Potter, who uses a wheelchair. He has previously operated two other clubs: the first, The Aquarius, was destroyed by flooding, and the second, The Neptune, was destroyed by fire. With the assistance of Jerry St. Clair, Potter aims to make The Phoenix Club the most popular venue in Bolton, in an effort to surpass his rival, Den Perry, who owns the competing club The Banana Grove.
