Tsukasa Mizugaki, an 18-year-old who failed his college entrance exams, is offered a job at the prestigious SAI Corporation, which is known for producing and managing Giftia—androids capable of experiencing human emotions. Tsukasa is assigned to the terminal service department, where his primary responsibility is to retrieve Giftias nearing the end of their operational lifespan, a role often regarded as menial and grim. He is also tasked with working alongside Isla, a female Giftia whose only assigned duty is to serve tea to her colleagues.
