Kawai Mai is a 20-year-old rookie police officer who works at a local police box, where she puts in hard work but feels both physically and mentally exhausted. Despite her efforts to serve the community, she feels unappreciated and finds little satisfaction in her duties. On the verge of resigning, she meets Fuji Seiko, a 30-year-old former top detective from the Criminal Investigations Division. Seiko is said to have been transferred to the police box after reportedly harassing a subordinate. Their unexpected meeting leads to them being paired together, and the two form an unusual partnership as they work through cases, daily tasks, and the beginnings of a possible romance. As they support each other, the true reason behind Seiko's transfer to the police box is gradually uncovered.
