In the early twentieth century, Jiang Ying, the top singer at the New Fairyland in Tang City, devises an elaborate plan to take revenge by marrying Du Jingchuang, a wealthy businessman. Du Xunyu, Du Jingchuang's son, suspects Jiang Ying of having ulterior motives, while his own identity as a fake son is nearly uncovered by her. Tension rises as they clash constantly under the same roof, but over time, they begin to realize they may have been old friends in a past life. The two individuals, once lone avengers, gradually become each other's protectors. Meanwhile, Du Jingchuang, their shared adversary, secretly observes their growing connection.
