Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student living near Enoshima, meets Mai Sakurajima, an actress and his senior who appears to no one else. As he tries to uncover why she is invisible to others, their time together reveals deeper emotional connections. Amidst a backdrop of bright skies and sparkling seas, Sakuta encounters other girls experiencing strange and mysterious behaviors linked to adolescence.

Sakuta attempts to learn more about the cause of Mai's Adolescence Syndrome by going on a date with her, but on the way to their meeting at Fujisawa Station, he encounters a lost child and is later misidentified as a pervert by another girl, causing him to arrive late. After gaining Mai's forgiveness, they continue their date, though Mai surprises Sakuta by changing their destination to Shichirigahama Beach.

After moving from Fujisawa to Ogaki, Mai Sakurajima finds that no one, including those at Sakuta's school, remembers her. As Sakuta learns that forgetting her may be tied to a specific action, he becomes determined to hold onto his memories of her, while Mai herself comes to a significant decision in response to his behavior.

Following the resolution of Mai's "puberty syndrome," Sakuta begins experiencing a new anomaly: time stops repeating the same day indefinitely. Seeking help from Rio, he learns it might be connected to "Laplace’s demon," suggesting someone is manipulating time to relive a single day.

Tomoe takes advantage of a mistaken belief that she and Sakuta are dating to ease a difficult social situation involving her friend's crush. She urges Sakuta to continue the pretense, and despite his sense of obligation to Mai, Sakuta agrees to pretend to be Tomoe's boyfriend in order to help her maintain her social standing in the class.

As the first term comes to an end, the day arrives when the pretense of dating Tomoe is meant to end, bringing closure to the situation. However, just as things seem settled, new complications arise.

Sakuta takes in a stray cat, only for it to be joined by a girl who resembles his former school crush, causing tension with Mai, who is struggling to balance her relationship and busy job. Meanwhile, Futaba seems to be hiding something.

Rio experiences a case of "Puberty Syndrome," resulting in the existence of two versions of herself. One Rio stays at Sakuta's house, while the other begins posting strange photos online. After learning about this from a classmate, Sakuta tries to understand both Rios and their condition.

Sakuta is excited to see Mai again after she was busy with work and unavailable due to agency restrictions, but is shocked when she arrives at his house and doesn't recognize him. It is revealed that Mai and her younger sister Nodoka have switched bodies due to a mysterious condition called the Adolescence Syndrome, and must navigate life in each other's lives until it is resolved.

Nodoka begins to struggle with feelings of inferiority as Mai successfully handles a commercial filming. Meanwhile, Mai is forced to take Nodoka's place in her pop idol group, Sweet Bullet. Sakuta and Nodoka attend the concert using tickets they were given.

With Nodoka's Puberty Syndrome finally resolved, Sakuta looks forward to a more affectionate relationship with Mai. However, a media scandal claiming Mai has a new boyfriend causes concern. At a press conference, Mai addresses the rumors, prompting Kaede to set personal goals for the year, including returning to school, in order to support Sakuta.

Sakuta reveals to Mai and Nodoka the history of his family and the emotional trauma Kaede experienced. At the same time, Kaede faces ongoing challenges as she tries to readjust to life outside of seclusion, causing Sakuta to grow increasingly concerned about her progress.

Kaede, with Sakuta's support, begins attending school at night and grows excited about going during the day. The next day, however, her original memories return, causing her to forget the past two years she spent with Sakuta. A mysterious individual appears before a heartbroken Sakuta, now left alone without Kaede.

Sakuta begins his university life and forms a connection with a girl during a class field trip.

As Uzuki's popularity increases, she starts to become more integrated into her friend group's social dynamic.

Sweet Bullet prepares to perform at an ensemble concert in Odaiba, marking a significant moment for the group as they take the stage at a major venue.

A mysterious woman named Touko Kirishima, dressed as Santa and claiming to give out Puberty Syndrome as gifts, appears before Sakuta. She takes an interest in Ikumi Akagi, a nursing student and former classmate of Sakuta's, prompting him to attend a group date with nursing students where they discuss a viral social media rumor involving the hashtag #DREAMING.

A glass pumpkin lantern crashes in a plaza near Sakuragicho Station, just as a #DREAMING social media post had foretold, but Ikumi arrives in time to save a girl who was standing beneath it. Convinced by the rumors surrounding the hashtag, Ikumi has been actively rescuing people from impending accidents. She visits Sakuta at university to give him an invitation to their middle school reunion, though he cautions her against overextending herself, which she chooses to disregard.

A supernatural event resembling a poltergeist occurs around Ikumi, leading Sakuta to suspect it may be linked to Puberty Syndrome. Ikumi suggests the only solution is for Sakuta to be forgotten, prompting her to challenge him into a contest: whoever remembers or forgets a key moment first will determine their relationship's fate.

Ikumi discovers online posts about a middle school reunion and experiences a troubling dream about it. Sakuta takes her to Minegahara High School to discuss strange things he has noticed about her, and their conversation ends with an unexpected and emotional farewell at a railway crossing.

Sakuta receives a cryptic message from Ikumi warning that "Mai-san is in danger" and urging him to find Touko Kirishima. He attempts to contact the Miniskirt Santa, who identifies as Touko, and later receives a call offering a meeting on December 2nd—coincidentally Mai's birthday.

Sakuta experiences a dream in which he spends Christmas Eve with Sara Himeji, a student from his cram school, instead of his intended date, Mai. In the dream, Sara reveals she also suffers from Puberty Syndrome and chooses to embrace it, as it helps her cope with anxiety and gain male attention following a past heartbreak. Sakuta cautions her against this path, but she challenges him with a question about the nature of love.

Sakuta encounters a Miniskirt Santa on a beauty pageant site his friend was viewing, but her name is listed as Nene Iwamizawa instead of Touko Kirishima. He accepts help from Sara, who can sense his thoughts due to her Puberty Syndrome, and she suggests reading the Miniskirt Santa's mind at her Christmas Eve performance venue.

Sakuta experiences a dream in which Mai unveils her real identity as Touko Kirishima during a music festival on April 1st, coinciding with widespread online chaos as social media platforms are overwhelmed by posts using the hashtag #DREAMING, causing system failures and access issues.

Mai addresses the media to clarify that she is not Touko Kirishima, but the widespread influence of the #DREAMING hashtag makes it difficult to quell the rumors. Sakuta confirms that his promise to the Miniskirt Santa has been fulfilled, and he and Mai go on a date.

Nene, after experiencing a confusing episode where she forgets who she is and believes herself to be Touko Kirishima, is diagnosed with a condition linked to Takumi's memory loss. Sakuta and Ikumi travel to Takumi's hometown in Hokkaido to help resolve the issue, hoping it will also protect Mai. Upon their arrival, Takumi meets them at the airport, and Sakuta presents a beauty contest trophy that Nene had won.
