Respect

The protagonist of the story, Ercüment Çözer, rebels against disrespect and rudeness that society often avoids, ignores, and eventually forgets. Ercüment is a sociopath obsessed with the idea of respect. In this narrative, he is not alone in his obsessive journey. The young lovers Helen and Savas, who are newly entering adulthood, find themselves in difficult situations after being mistreated by a group of people, ultimately becoming responsible for a chain of murders in Istanbul. The theme of disrespect evolves into a social and media-driven conflict between two generations. The media coverage is led by Turkey’s most famous morning show host, Hasret, though it remains unknown that she is also about to become involved in the journey on a deeper level. As the story explores the core of this obsession, it reveals the impact it has on society.
