Revolutionary Girl Utena
The main character is Utena Tenjou, a tomboyish teenage girl who, inspired by a kind prince from her childhood, decides to become a prince herself. She enrolls at Ohtori Academy, where she meets Anthy Himemiya, a student trapped in an abusive relationship. Utena intervenes to protect Anthy, becoming involved in a series of sword duels against members of the Student Council. Anthy is known as the "Rose Bride," a title tied to her role as the prize given to the winner of each duel. The tournament is said to offer the winner a mysterious "power to revolutionize the world," and the current champion must constantly defend their right to possess the Rose Bride.
