Saga of Tanya the Evil

Set in a world resembling early 20th-century Europe where magic exists alongside modern warfare, the story follows the Empire as it wages war against the Entente Alliance. A young Second Lieutenant named Tanya Degurechaff commands a platoon of mages in a struggling northern front, despite being only nine years old.

Tanya's origins are uncovered, revealing that she was once a detached Japanese salaryman who was pushed in front of a train by a man he had laid off. A powerful entity known as "Being X" reincarnated him as a baby girl, but without any guarantee of future reincarnation. Now, Tanya must navigate her new life and ensure her survival.

Tanya, following a successful first mission, is given a dangerous new task: to test an unstable prototype calculation jewel that grants immense power at great personal risk. She seeks to leave the project for a safer assignment, but Being X has different plans for her.

Tanya enjoys a prestigious position as a respected student at a military university, where she is consulted by a high-ranking Empire official on war strategy. She presents a brilliant and innovative plan, hoping to secure a favorable career opportunity. However, her strategy leads to unintended consequences, complicating her standing and future prospects.

Tanya's newly formed battalion embarks on its first mission by repelling a large-scale invasion from the Dakian Dukedom. Exploiting the enemy's lack of air support, her unit quickly overwhelms the numerically superior force. Following the victory, Tanya leads her troops in an assault on the Dukedom's capital.

Upon her arrival, Tanya finds the Alliance launching a critical bombing raid on an Empire supply base, with local forces struggling to mount an effective defense.

The Empire launches an ill-timed winter assault on the Entente Alliance, which appears to be a strategic misstep due to a lack of supplies. Tanya quickly deduces that the attack is a diversion meant to conceal a larger operation. She is tasked with leading a critical mission to disable 20 cannon emplacements along a fjord in preparation for an Imperial landing.

With the war against the Entente Alliance over, Tanya and her forces return to the Rhine, where they face the formidable and well-prepared troops of the Republic. Meanwhile, a former Kingdom officer regains consciousness in a distant hospital, driven by a divine mission now embedded in his mind.

Tanya is deployed to lead a critical mission as the Empire attempts to defeat the Republic with a strategic deception involving a staged retreat. Facing the entire Republic army alone, she embarks on a daring rocket journey deep into enemy territory.

Tanya's successful mission leaves the Republic surrounded and incapacitated, but her return is interrupted by a group of allied mages led by Anton Souix, a former adversary she had previously crippled. Now empowered by Being X, Anton returns with a singular goal: to defeat the Devil of the Rhine.

Tanya's undermanned company launches an assault on the Allied Kingdom mages instead of withdrawing, using their high ground to their advantage. However, they endure significant casualties, particularly after Colonel Sioux employs an outlawed Trench Gun.

Tanya struggles to maintain discipline as the Empire celebrates its victory over the Republic, which has retreated overseas and pledged to continue the fight. While the Empire's triumph seems absolute, its harsh tactics have alarmed the global community and ignited resistance elsewhere. The episode questions whether such a victory can truly be lasting or meaningful.
