Touma Inaba, a candidate for an entrance exam at Keio University—one of Japan's top three colleges—is interrupted at his hotel room when a young girl named Urara Kasuga unexpectedly appears at his door. Urara is later revealed to be his cousin, whom he barely remembers from his childhood. She had developed feelings for him beyond what is typical for cousins and invites him to live with her, as he has no other place to stay besides the hotel. Before taking the exam, Touma meets Meiko Yotsuba, a beautiful and sophisticated woman also applying to Keio. Meiko is accepted, but Touma is not, due to a cold Urara had given him shortly before. Despite his rejection, Touma pretends to have been accepted in order to gain Meiko's respect. He becomes entangled in a love triangle with Urara and Meiko, while struggling to maintain the illusion that he is a Keio student and remain supportive to Urara.
