Seraph of the End
A vengeful teen joins an elite demon‑hunting unit to overthrow the blood‑thirsty vampires who have enslaved humanity—risking everything to avenge his lost family and rescue his best friend from their immortal grasp.
In 2012, the world is devastated by a human-made virus that wipes out the majority of the global population, leaving only children unaffected. Around this time, vampires emerge from hiding, possibly followed by other ancient horrors once thought to be mere myth. The vampires quickly take control of the earth, subjugating the surviving humans and relocating them underground under the guise of protection. This protection requires the humans to regularly donate blood to their vampire overlords. At the age of twelve, Yūichirō and his friend and fellow orphan Mikaela plan to escape with the other children at Hyakuya Orphanage. Their attempt, however, ends in failure and death, with Mikaela sacrificing himself to allow Yūichirō to escape and be rescued by members of the Moon Demon Company, an extermination unit of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. Four years later, Yūichirō dedicates his life to the destruction of vampires and seeks revenge for the death of his "family."
