Sherlock Holmes

The action takes place in Victorian England in the last quarter of the 19th century. Sherlock Holmes, a 27-year-old amateur detective, encounters a crime alongside Dr. John Watson, a military physician recently returned from the war in Afghanistan. During the investigation, Watson, who has not yet secured an apartment in London, resides with Holmes at Mrs. Hudson's "half board" and becomes involved in Holmes's cases. Watson teaches Holmes boxing, a skill in which he is proficient, having the ability to handle multiple opponents bare-handed. He is also an accomplished marksman. Viewing Holmes as a genius, Watson resolves to share his friend's talents and the mysteries he has uncovered through his writings, often embellishing the events (the "true story" of which the series presents). Watson learns the art of embellishment from the editor-in-chief of the "Morning Chronicle."
