Most children dream of becoming superheroes, but not Eric Needles. Eric dreams of being a sidekick. His dream comes true when his favorite superhero, Maxum Man, chooses him as his sidekick. However, things take an unexpected turn when Maxum Man disappears on the day Eric is set to begin his full-time role as a sidekick. Left to manage the situation, Eric must convince the world that Maxum Man is still active and fulfilling his superhero duties. Among Eric's peers is Kitty Ko, a heroine who is often more interested in boys than in battles, but who offers surprisingly helpful advice.
