Sons and Daughters

*Sons and Daughters* was an Australian soap opera created by Reg Watson and produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation from 1981 to 1987. It premiered on Monday, 18 January 1982, during the Christmas/New Year non-ratings period in Sydney and Melbourne, and its final episode officially aired on 19 August 1987, although the broadcast date varied across Australia, with Melbourne screening the last episode on Sunday, 27 December 1987. The series consists of 972 half-hour episodes; however, during its original Australian run, later episodes were presented in an hour-long format. The first pilot episode, which was initially broadcast as a 90-minute special in Australia, was later split into three half-hour episodes for subsequent screenings.
