Sons of Tucson

Sons of Tucson is a family comedy centered on three brothers who hire a charismatic, unpredictable con artist to impersonate their father while their real father is in prison. What starts as a transactional arrangement gradually transforms into a more intricate and engaging dynamic, introducing a family with a unique and unconventional structure. The brothers—Robby, Gary, and Brandon Gunderson—meet their hired father figure, Ron Snuffkin (played by Tyler Labine), at a local sporting goods store. As Ron assumes the role of patriarch, he must rely on his diverse set of skills and clever tricks to care for the Gunderson boys. Robby, the 8-year-old, is a rambunctious child who resists authority; Gary, 11, is a sharp and cunning natural leader, much like his real father; and Brandon, 13, is a kind-hearted, easygoing free spirit. Maggie Morales (Natalie Martinez), Robby’s second-grade teacher and Ron’s romantic interest, serves as a stabilizing presence in the chaotic lives of the four. While the show explores the everyday struggles of a single-parent household, the Gunderson family is full of surprises. A constant power struggle in the form of a chess match between Ron and the boys keeps both sides engaged, as neither can afford to relinquish too much control or independence.
