Stars Align

The boys' soft tennis club is constantly outperformed by the girls' club and faces the threat of disbandment due to their lack of skill and poor results. Desperate to find capable players, Toma Shinjou attempts to recruit new members but fails. Maki Katsuragi, a transfer student, catches the attention of Toma when he displays quick reflexes by catching a stray cat. Toma eagerly asks Maki to join the team, but he is initially rejected, as Maki has no interest in joining any clubs. Toma, however, persists and eventually convinces Maki to join, but only if Toma agrees to cover his club expenses. Once Maki joins, he quickly outperforms the rest of the team, causing tension among the members. Maki challenges his teammates to take the game seriously and commit themselves to improving. The story centers on the boys' soft tennis club as they discover their own potential, while also navigating the challenges and darker aspects of growing up in middle school.
