Stars in Their Eyes
Stars in Their Eyes was a British television talent show that aired on Saturday nights from 21 July 1990 to 23 December 2006, featuring contestants who impersonated celebrities from the world of show business. Produced by Granada for ITV, the show was based on the Dutch format Soundmixshow, created by Joop van den Ende. It became one of Britain's most successful programs, drawing approximately 13 million viewers for the live grand final at the end of each series. The show is known for its memorable catchphrase, "Tonight, I'm going to be...", and was recognized as the most popular entertainment show at the National Television Awards in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000. Among the most frequently impersonated stars were Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Cher, George Michael, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, and Madonna.
