Strike Witches
In 1939, the Neuroi appeared, an unknown force whose origins and ultimate purpose remain unknown. Their attacks forced people from their towns and cities, prompting humanity to develop a new weapon known as the "Striker Unit." Powered by magic, the Striker Unit enhances the abilities of female magic-wielders, enabling them to combat the Neuroi. To effectively utilize this technology, young witches from around the world were assembled into an elite unit known as the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, or the "Strike Witches."
