George Altman, a single father, is raising his sixteen-year-old daughter, Tessa, in the city. After finding a box of condoms in her room, he decides to move her to the suburbs for a more wholesome environment. However, the idyllic homes and manicured lawns hide a different reality: over-the-top mothers, cosmetic enhancements, and energetic teenagers that clash with Tessa's personality. The experience challenges George's belief that they've made the right move, as he begins to question whether they've simply traded one difficult situation for another.
