Swallow the Sun

Jung-woo was abandoned by his birth parents as an infant and later formed a close bond with Soo-hyun, who became his romantic interest. After rescuing Chairman Jang, he is adopted by him and takes on the role of bodyguard to the chairman’s son, Tae-hyuk. Jung-woo and Soo-hyun reunite at Tae-hyuk’s school, but despite her feelings for Jung-woo, Soo-hyun chooses to be with Tae-hyuk, who promises to help her pursue her dream career. Together, Tae-hyuk and Soo-hyun travel to the United States for their studies. Jung-woo is later betrayed by Chairman Jang but is contacted by Jackson Lee, a former military comrade, who invites him to Las Vegas to start anew. There, Jung-woo coincidentally encounters Soo-hyun and Tae-hyuk. As a private bodyguard, he saves the life of a small African nation’s monarch, who in turn asks him to rescue the king’s son from rebels in exchange for access to a diamond mine. Jung-woo travels to Africa to complete the mission and claim the mine. Meanwhile, Tae-hyuk and Soo-hyun return to Seogwipo city on Jeju Island at Chairman Jang’s request, with Tae-hyuk overseeing a hotel and Soo-hyun managing event planning. After securing the diamond mine, Jung-woo returns to Jeju and becomes embroiled in a conflict with Chairman Jang and Tae-hyuk. During the struggle, he uncovers a shocking secret that fundamentally challenges his understanding of his own identity.
