*Team Knight Rider* is a syndicated television series adapted from the *Knight Rider* franchise, which aired from 1997 to 1998. Created by writers/producers Rick Copp and David A. Goodman, the series is based on the original *Knight Rider* created by Glen A. Larson, who served as an executive producer. Produced by Gil Wadsworth and Scott McAboy, and distributed by Universal Domestic Television, *Team Knight Rider* ran for one season consisting of 22 one-hour episodes before being canceled due to poor ratings. The series follows a new team of high-tech crime fighters assembled by the Foundation for Law and Government, continuing the legacy of Michael Knight and his supercar KITT. Rather than focusing on a single hero, the show features five team members, each paired with a computerized, talking vehicle. Like the original *Knight Rider*, the team targets criminals who operate "above the law," including spies, assassins, terrorists, and drug dealers. The final episode of the series features a brief reappearance of Michael Knight, shown only from behind at the conclusion.
