The Beach Boys, an influential American music group, was formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California, by brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, along with their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. The group emerged during the early surf rock era and quickly gained popularity with their harmonious vocal arrangements and upbeat, sun-soaked sound. Their debut single, "Surfin'," released in 1961, helped establish them as pioneers of the surf rock genre. The band's early success was fueled by a string of hit songs that celebrated California beach culture, including "Surfin' Safari" and "Surfer Girl." As the group's popularity grew, Brian Wilson became the primary songwriter and producer, shaping the band's musical direction and contributing to their innovative approach to pop music.
