The Big Breakfast was a British light entertainment television show that aired on Channel 4 and S4C each weekday morning from 28 September 1992 to 29 March 2002. During its ten-year run, 2,482 episodes were produced. The programme was produced by Planet 24, a production company co-owned by Bob Geldof, the former singer of the Boomtown Rats and organiser of Live Aid. The show was notable for being broadcast live from a set of former lockkeepers' cottages known as "The Big Breakfast House," or simply "The House," located on Fish Island in Bow, east London. The programme combined news, weather, interviews, audience phone-ins, and general features, maintaining a light and informal tone. It competed with the more serious GMTV and BBC breakfast programmes.
