The Buccaneers
Four American girls from a "new money" background struggle to gain acceptance into New York's upper-crust society. Laura Testvalley, the governess of one of the girls, proposes that they spend a London season to improve their social standing, and the young women set sail for England. Upon arrival, each of the girls finds an eligible husband among the English aristocracy. The youngest, Nan, appears to secure the most advantageous match: the attractive and wealthy Julius, Duke of Trevennick. However, the girls soon realize that the English upper-class men are not at all what they had anticipated.
