The story follows fisherman Ed Collier, who is highly protective of his family, which includes his wife, Claire, and his daughter, Abbie. However, when a wealthy young man named Ryan Wilson begins to take an interest in Abbie, Ed notices her growing increasingly distant and begins to fear that he may lose her permanently.
