The remote region of Karelia in Russia is known for its myths and legends, but when several unexplained cases of West Nile Fever emerge, an epidemiological expedition is dispatched to investigate. The team is led by former lovers Nikolai and Vera, who share unresolved tensions. As the expedition unfolds, they encounter events that defy scientific explanation. *The Counted* is a one-hour drama series that blends elements of the paranormal and science fiction, set against the distinct geographical, tribal, and social backdrop of Karelia, Russia.
