In 1971 Times Square, twin brothers Vincent and Frankie Martino struggle to survive in the chaotic, crime-ridden environment. Vincent seeks opportunities to better his life and interacts with various characters in midtown, while Abby is drawn into the underworld by being asked to purchase amphetamines.

Vincent begins staying at a rundown hotel and considers a proposition from mobster Rudy Pipilo, while Bobby seeks to leverage Vincent's new associations. Candy becomes fascinated with filmmaking, C.C. introduces Lori to the advantages of having a pimp, and Larry experiences growing unease.
