The Fallen Leaf

The story follows Nira, a boy who identifies as a girl at heart, struggling with the pain of not being accepted by anyone except his mother, who unconditionally loves him. His father is cruel, hating Nira and mistreating his mother. Nira admires his uncle-in-law, Chatchavee, the only other person besides his mother who is kind, caring, and understanding. When Nira develops a forbidden romantic attraction to Chatchavee, the latter becomes aware of it but refuses to acknowledge or respond to it, rejecting Nira. Deeply hurt and traumatized by the rejection, Nira, with her mother's support, makes a life-changing decision: she undergoes sex reassignment surgery, transforming into a beautiful woman. Tragically, her mother dies during the operation. Grief-stricken, Nira leaves the hospital. She is found and helped by Dr. Benjang, who takes her in and allows her to live with him as his sister.
