Sophia moves to the retirement community after her home is destroyed in a fire, while Blanche makes plans for her upcoming wedding.

Dorothy's daughter, Kate, arrives in Miami to announce her engagement to a podiatrist named Dennis. Dorothy is initially delighted but becomes angry when she learns that Kate plans to invite Dorothy's ex-husband, Stan, who left her 38 years earlier for a much younger woman. Torn between her emotions, Dorothy threatens to disrupt the wedding, forcing Rose and Blanche to try to mediate the situation.

Rose, who has not dated since her husband's death, agrees to a blind date and is surprised when it develops into a serious relationship after she is invited on a cruise that requires sharing a stateroom.

Blanche's sister, Virginia, visits Miami, and Blanche suspects she has ulterior motives. During a dinner outing, Blanche discovers Virginia is interested in her kidney. Meanwhile, Rose and Dorothy find themselves babysitting an infant.
